Lewis David James McLeary (#8) – Age 7 Born 1st August 2002.

Lewis lives in Airth village near Falkirk and attends Airth Primary. He started off on a 50cc 2 stroke quad aged 3 regularly attending NLSQBC to have fun round the track. He showed great skill of control from this age and an enthusiasm that was something else.

By age 4 he was onto his 2nd quad a 50cc 4 stroke and would regularly play on his cousins LT80 quad also. His Mums side of the family have been heavily involved with bikes & racing from road racing/ classic road racing and motocross for generations from his Papa, Uncles and cousins, so for xmas 2008 his mum and dad decided to take the plunge and bought Lewis is first motorbike a 2007 KTM Mini Adventure 2 stroke 50cc. Lewis took to it like he'd been born on a bike no fear at all and all very natural to him.

March 2009 Lewis had his first race @ Melville motorclub coming 12th out of 16. He competed all of the 2009 season on board his trusty steed (mini adventure) getting to grips with all the tracks such as Shiplaw, Duns, Leuchars, Ardesier & Mid Argyll never coming last but loving it. he finished 6th overall in GYMCC championship and 10th for SYMCC quite an achievement on a mini.

In October 2009 he was bought a 2007 50sx Big Wheel and although having to use starting blocks he soon got to grips with it competing in melville winter series 1st round finishing 5th 2nd round finishing 4th and 3rd round finishing 4th overall and coming 2nd in the winter series championship.

Lewis has just competed in the 1st round of the Scottish Youth Motocross Championship (13th + 14th March 2010) finishing 2nd overall on his brand new 2010 KTM 50 sx provided by sponsors Bridgend Farm & S & G Rae Contractors.

The parents are also hoping to head down south for some meetings this year (2010) & Lewis is hungry for more and wants to succeed having a personal goal of becoming Auto Scottish Champion by 2011 & riding for a large team when he gets a bit older. He eats sleeps n breaths motocross and seems to have natural talent there. Mum and Dad are very proud of him as he's the smallest dude out there.

Ciara Robertson (#33) – Age 8

MONTROSE MOTORBIKE racer Ciara Robertson may be only eight, but she is already breaking records.
Following in the wheeltracks of her father Alister, the youngster’s speeds have topped 50mph aboard her KTM 50cc bike in the sport of motocross making her one of the fastest riders for her age in Scotland.
While her dad is sitting fourth in the North-East Scotland Championships, Ciara, who has been racing since she was six, is sitting fifth in the junior section. Ciara was also the Aberdeen & District Motocross Club Champion (2009) for the Auto Class.
Being the only girl in the class simply fuels her determination.
Her skill on the track has recently attracted substantial sponsorship from a number of Montrose businesses.
This has helped to ensure she has the adequate kit and entry fees to carry on racing.
Neither are her high speed antics confined to motorbikes. She also holds the lap record of 15.02 secs on the Montrose indoor karting circuit.

Daniel Chisholm (#50)

Daniel Chisholm (#50) – Age 8 Born 5th December 2001.

Daniel’s first introduction to motocross / quads was riding a Suzuki LT50 (quad) at the tender age of 4 then JR50 (bike) at the age of 5. This was the beginning of sheer excitement and enjoyment for Daniel, riding the bike just felt so right, he then quickly progressed to the KTM 50 Pro junior machine, his 1st proper mx machine, and still at the young age of 5.

He started going to NLSQBC aged 5, a social club for youngsters that helped him hugely whilst also building up his own confidence levels. After a few years practicing, in 2007 he got the 50SX machine for Xmas and started racing at the Borders Motocross Club, where he managed to win the Autos Club Championship in his 1st year of competitive racing, an impressive achievement indeed.

As his confidence grew and also his knowledge and understanding of motocross racing, 2008 was getting more serious, with bike modifications and the addition of big wheels, Daniel was now competing at Shiplaw, Borders, Lochgilphead, and Leuchars Motocross Clubs, whilst also competing in the Scottish Youth Championships. He won the Mid Argyll Championships, runner-up at Leuchars, and 3rd overall in both the Borders and Scottish Championships.

Winning means everything to young Daniel, as he is known for some spectacular crashes and doing it in style as he rides full throttle to cross the finish line in 1st place, overall result standings mainly effected due to sheer commitment, but never has a bad crash hindered his enthusiasm and determination to succeed, always back on his loved machinery to continue racing.

Further experience was gained during November 2009 with a 2-day venture down south in order to compete with the big guns and 25+ other auto riders. This proved to be invaluable for his young racing career, and managing to pick-up 3 x 2nds and 2 x 2nds, and a 5th place even after one of his spectacular crashes on the final lap.

Preparations for the 2010 season has meant regular weekly gymnastic sessions which has hugely improved both his fitness and strength.

Certainly a rider for the future…………and wish Daniel all the best. Also a huge mention must also be made to his father, William for his commitment and patience, and off course his knowledge of KTM machinery.
